Reports to: Project Manager

Back-Up for: Maintenance Technicians

Department: Maintenance

Classification: Salary Exempt

Wage: Based on knowledge and experience.

Hours: Monday through Friday 6am – 3pm, hours may vary based on needs and weekends as needed.

Objective: The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining the facility, equipment, and machinery. Oversee all maintenance personnel, contractors, and preventive maintenance programs. Work with Production personnel on continuous improvement initiatives and support Safety and Food Safety policies and procedures.

What you'll do

General Duties:

· Represents maintenance during monthly Food Safety walk-through and assigns/completes designated jobs.

· Ensures self and staff follow GMP, HACCP guidelines, and Food Safety procedures.

· Follows document control guidelines for all Food Safety records.

· Follows and enforces safety standards as required by OSHA, including Lockout Tagout of equipment. Maintains SDS for chemicals used in maintenance.

· Monitors emergency on-call system during off-scheduled hours (weekends, holidays, etc)

· Plans and coordinates daily maintenance work orders and ensures alignment to the predictive maintenance strategy. Maintain spare parts inventory.

· Maintains documents for non-conforming equipment repairs.

· Maintains records related to maintenance for five (5) years.

· Oversees outside contractors.

· Enforces company policies and procedures as a member of management.

General Long-Term Strategies

· Forecasts costs, equipment, and personnel needs for projects as required to support production operations.

· Presents a professional image as a representative of the company.

· Develop plan for critical spare parts.

· Develop plan for maintenance related Capex projects.

What we're looking for

Requirements of Position:

· Minimum 2-5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Supervisor (technical school preferred).

· Lead by example with Safety and Food Safety. Knowledgeable of OSHA regulations.

· Strong leadership skills, with excellent oral and written communication skills.

· Competent with MS Office, especially with Word and Excel.

· This is a working supervisor role and as such should be able to perform and train on all maintenance tasks.

· Must have working knowledge of the following: proper use of basic power tools, shop math, pneumatics, hydraulics, refrigeration, HVAC, controls and electrical.

· Capable of climbing, balancing, kneeling, bending, reaching, standing, walking, lifting and carrying in performance of work activities. Able to lift 50 pounds.

· Must perform a documented evaluation annually for all maintenance employees.

· Follows policies on corrective actions for both performance and attendance.

· Must be able to inspire team participation, allowing them to voice their opinion and implementing changes.
